Two layers, one handle
The finish and the metal beneath it are different things.
The brass gives weight, balance and a substrate that holds a finish evenly. The finish—Gold, Satin Gold, Silver, Cream or Olive—is applied over that foundation and is what you see and feel at the surface.
Because the finish is a considered, applied layer rather than the raw metal, RAFAN handles are not “unlacquered brass” and are not left to weather into a patina. They are made to look, on the door, the way they looked when they left the workshop.
